Lloyd Hunt BES, B. Arch, OAA, LEED AP
Lloyd Hunt graduated in 1984 from the University of Waterloo (B.E.S., B.Arch). He was elected as a member of the Ontario Association of Architects in 1989 and received his Certificate of Practice in 1994. Lloyd Hunt received his LEED Accredited Professional in 2009. He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at the School of Architecture, University of Waterloo since 1991.
Lloyd Hunt’s practice is located in Glen Huron, situated at the base of the Niagara Escarpment, near Georgian Bay. He has completed dozens of additions, custom residences, recreational club houses, commercial projects, and government projects. His practice emphasizes energy conservation strategies, and careful attention to timber detailing to reflect the rural situation. His projects also show his sensitivity to historical details and context, as well as, his fluency in the Ontario Building Code.
As a natural outcome of his practice in rural context, Lloyd Hunt has extensive experience in working with environmental agencies, including the Niagara Escarpment Commission, the Grey-Sauble Conservation Authority, the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority and the Simcoe County Health Unit.
